For this shoot I set up the camera on top of a fire hydrant and pretended to check my phone while using the remote to snap pictures. I don't know why I'm so self-conscious about people knowing I'm shooting, .... but I am.
That's why taking shots of cars works well, they can't exactly stop and give you the stink eye, they go by too fast for you to make eye contact. Great for the shy photographer.
