I'm enthusiastic about experimenting with cooking, but I'm not the sorta guy that can just grab stuff out of the fridge and make something. I'm also enthusiastic about saving as much money on food as possible.

So when I found out that you can make a lot of food for cheap by putting a pot roast in the oven with vegetables, I was very excited. I'm easily entertained. It's funny that's it's such a simple concept, yet I had never known about it.

These are the sorts of things that you are supposed to learn at some point early in your life, but I missed that lesson. Reminds me of story a friend of mine would tell about how this girl he knew phoned him asking how he prevents the pasta from going black. "Black?" he says. They talk about the time it was left on the stove, the type of pasta and the heat setting of the element. All ok. Turns out she didn't realize you had to put water in the pot too.
