This is the brief story of a family in North York who converted their entire driveway into a garden. What's most surprising is that this move was initially resisted by the city, who stated that all driveways must be asphalt, interlock, or concrete.
This is a great example of individual environmentalism that makes a measurable difference.

Eric,
Thanks for sharing Paradise Unpaved with your readers. It was a fun project. The initial resistance we got from the City just made their eventual approval and our permit to build a green driveway, sweeter. The benefits for the environment are so clear I'm thrilled we got to do it. In the future, I think many more people will be unpaving their own paradises.
Nice to learn of your blogging and photography!

That's amazing. Good for them!
