Easter
Sunday, March 23, 2008 at 11:31PM
Went home for Easter dinner on Saturday. Fun times as usual, and I took some pictures. So while this may not constitute an informative/opinionated blog post, at least it's original content.
And as a warning, I'll say that these are predominately food shots. But I love food shots, and this is my blog so I'll do what I want at the risk of alienating both of my viewers.

Appetizers. I love that kolbasa stuff in the front, and the blurry yellow/brown stuff in the top right is brie topped with toasted almonds, another fave.

These are just some of the many things my mom put together. Typical mom-produced-family-event-food, but very tasty as usual.

Dining room table. I just liked the lighting in this one.

Cornel and Byron. Cute kid. Must have got it from the mother.

Byron eating is quite entertaining. Food stands no chance in front of this child. If its not in his mouth, it's being beaten into the table or thrown on the floor. Fortunately his appetite is usually greater than his thurst for destruction.

My mom had me hide these eggs in the snow outside so the kids could go out and find them after dinner.

It was actually really fun watching the kids get so excited trying to find them. Byron took a different tactic in the egg hunt. He decided that while Troy and Kyle were finding the eggs, he'd take them out of the basket and ram them back into the snow again. Kind of a reverse-egg hunt really.

Dessert. The one in the foreground was a multi-layer fudge, mousse, and peanut butter thing, and it was awesome. The one in the background is chocolate layer cake topped with peeps, as you can see. I didn't try that one, too sweet for my tastes, but I heard good things. There were also lemon tarts which are the best thing invented, and my mother deserves a Nobel Prize in cooking for making them.
So all in all, another fun family time.

Looks like a great easter family gathering laden with good food! The peeps on the chocolate cake looks cute.
I had to laugh at Byron egg hunting tactic :P
Great pictures! They're making me want foods. Byron is pretty adorable. It would be great to see some shots of your parents too. Do tell them I say hello, won't you? :)
Yeah Steph they'll see your comment, I just forwarded this off to them.
Just excellent, Eric. Hope Ian sees this one.
