Walking through the Portlands

Bored today so I decided to go for a walk with my camera. This turned out to be the coolest photo I took. I know its somewhat typical, but I love texture shots.

Randomly chose to walk south on Cherry St. into the Portlands. I was surprised how barren the Portlands are; there is virtually nothing there except vacant lots and a few small marinas. Its hard to imagine that this whole area is going to be terra-formed into this as part of the larger WATERFRONToronto plan.

Once I saw the old Hearn power station I figured I'd try to get a closer look. This turned out to be not such a great idea due to the lack of sidewalks along this route.

I didn't get any photos of the old power station, however I think I'm going to make another trip back there sometime with the car and see if there is some way of sneaking into the place to get some photos. It looks like quite a few people have gotten in there to take some shots, so I don't see why I can't find a way in.
